Credits earned at another higher education institution may be accepted, upon approval by The University of Buckingham. Credit transfer must be initiated by students upon enrolment, by sending an e-mail to request@ibs-b.hu. Evidence of successful completion of the credits (official transcript) and the relevant module specification(s) must be presented. Any module considered for credit transfer must be comparable with an IBS module in terms of content, learning outcomes, level, and credit value.

Credit transfer requests are first examined by the IBS credit transfer committee and they are subsequently forwarded to The University of Buckingham for final approval. The decision may be one of the following: (a) approve all credit transfers, (b) approve some of the credit transfers, and (c) reject all credit transfers. The student will be notified of the decision via e-mail.

When registering the accepted credits, the completion of modules is recorded without the grade, and an “Exempt” mark is entered for the module. Modules completed via credit transfer are ignored in the calculation of degree classifications.
